We got lost on our way to another landmark during our trip through Kherson Oblast, and accidentally stumbled upon the stunning pink Sivash Lake.

On the way back home, my youngest son asked, "Why is the water SO pink, anyway?"
One of our many versions became the beginning of this enigmatic tale.

I dedicate it to my eldest son, Mike, with Asperger's syndrome and ADHD, my beloved X-Kid, who inspires me every day to have the courage to be MYSELF.
